About RateMyPrompts

RateMyPrompts is a free tool that grades the prompt sets marketers use to track their brand in AI assistants. It is built and run by theround ltd, a London company that also runs Zebora, a consultancy that builds and manages AI visibility programmes.

Why it exists

AI visibility trackers report on whatever prompts they are given. Working on client programmes at Zebora, we kept finding prompt sets that could not support the conclusions drawn from them: sets that were mostly the client's own brand name, sets written in marketing jargon no buyer uses, and sets too small to tell a real change from noise.

Nobody graded the prompts themselves, so we wrote a rubric, tested it against sets scored by hand, and published it. RateMyPrompts is that rubric as a tool anyone can use.

How we work

  • Published and deterministic

The rubric is public, versioned and rule-based. The same set always gets the same score, and every scorecard records which version graded it.

  • Buyer-shaped, not keyword-shaped

A set written in category jargon, or full of your own brand name, returns a flattering number. The score is built to catch exactly that.

  • Honest about uncertainty

Scorecards say when a set is too small to detect a change, and we publish what the score does not measure.

  • Private by default

Prompt text never appears on a shared scorecard. Only the scores and reasons do.

The full method is on the methodology page.

People

RateMyPrompts and Zebora

The tool grades a prompt set; Zebora can rebuild one or run the whole programme. Scorecards may suggest a Zebora service when a set needs more than a few fixes, and say so plainly. The score is never adjusted to sell anything.
